You’re a coach, entrepreneur or small business owner with big dreams.

You want to get your products, services and message to the masses.

You want to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

But, when it comes to writing your web copy and sales & marketing content you feel uncertain and stressed.

You know what you want to say, but you’re not entirely sure how to say it.

Maybe you hated English in school…

Maybe grammar and punctuation leave you cold…

Maybe you have far better things to be doing with your time than sweating over sentence structure…

My copywriting service What’s the Story? can help you.

What is it?

What’s the Story? is a copy-writing service tailor-made to tell your unique stories in your authentic voice.

How will it help?

What’s the Story? will help you to:

  • Identify your / your business’ unique story and voice
  • Get crystal clear on who your ideal customer is
  • Develop a compelling and memorable message and brand
  • Create great story-based content your potential clients will want to read
  • And in turn, gain their respect and trust and hopefully more business opportunities

Most importantly, it will free you from the stress of having to find just the right words to communicate your work.

As Ernest Hemingway once said, “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at the typewriter and bleed.”

What’s the Story? removes the pain from your copywriting – leaving you free to focus on the aspects of your business that you really enjoy.

How does it work?

Step One: I ask you to complete the What’s the Story? questionnaire to help me get crystal clear on exactly what you need and exactly how I can help. This invaluable part of the process also provides you with greater clarity regarding your message, products and services and brand.

Step Two: I price up the job and send you a quote. If you’re happy with the quote I invoice you and we get cracking.

Step Three: We have a phone / Skype call and you tell me more about what you want your business copy to say and I gather the details that will make it really stand out.

Step Four: You get on with the other aspects of your work … and I get writing.

Step Five: I deliver crystal clear copy designed to connect and inspire, containing any / all of the following:

  • Home page
  • About page
  • Company byline
  • Your personal bio
  • Elevator pitch
  • Product / service description
  • Calls to Action

Step Six: You let me know if you’d like me to make any changes and I tweak the copy accordingly.

Why invest in What’s the Story?

With so much of our lives and business transactions conducted online there’s no doubt that writing is more important than ever.

Your website and social media accounts are often the first port of call for your potential customers.

And with so many other websites all vying for their attention, it’s vital that your content is compelling, uplifting and of value.

The days of in-your-face, overtly salesy copy are over.

Successful businesses are now using far more compelling story-based techniques instead.

The advantages to this technique are many-fold. Here are just a few:

Stories have more of an emotional impact, but you don’t need a big budget to tell them.

Stories draw the reader in, rather than push them away.

Stories capture the imagination.

People love to share stories.

But while this is wildly refreshing for the customer, it brings a new set of challenges to coaches, entrepreneurs and businesses.

The hard truth of it is, creating compelling, story-based copy is an acquired skill.

What can I personally offer you?

IMG_20130818_085023As an award-winning author, editorial consultant and ghost writer I have years of experience to draw upon and, through my workshops and one-to-one services, I’ve helped thousands of people with their writing; including celebrities, business owners, coaches, bloggers and entrepreneurs.

I’ve also worked with many of the top publishers in the UK, including Faber & Faber, Hodder & Stoughton, Random House, Scholastic, Egmont, Walker Books and Penguin.

I pride myself on being able to write quickly and concisely, in the unique voice of my clients.

I also use my skills as a novelist to create copy that grabs the reader’s attention and makes it stand out from the crowd.

Here’s what some former clients have to say about working with me…

‘In her work as an editorial consultant, creating, shaping and developing concepts, and working with other writers, Siobhan’s an absolute pro. Creative, insightful, reliable and fun – what more could you ask for?’ Ali Dougal, Editorial Director, Egmont UK

‘Siobhan is great. I worked with her on my first book, Liquid Millionaire and I was so impressed with her attitude and expertise that she had to be my number one choice for my second book, How to Make Money in ISAs and SIPPS. I strongly recommend her and endorse her whole-heartedly.’ Stephen Sutherland, Chief Investment Strategist, ISACO

‘Siobhan is one of the most gifted writers I have worked with in the last fifteen years.’ Leah Thaxton, Publisher, Faber & Faber

‘I worked with Siobhan at a time of uncertainty and change in my writing career and I found our coaching conversations gave me fresh insights and a genuinely new perspective on my situation. Siobhan helped me to see the bigger picture of my writing life, when I had little time for the work itself and I truly appreciate her wisdom. The coaching calls still resonate with me as I move into a new phase of my work.’ Jacqui Lofthouse, author and coach

‘I went to Siobhan when I was pretty much down and out in writing terms. We talked, I cried a bit and laughed a lot and having listened to her wise words came away enthused to start afresh. I did, and my new attitude has brought good luck and success – and my sessions with Siobhan were the launchpad.’ Anna May Mangan, best-selling author of Me and Mine, and radio and TV broadcaster

To sum it all up…

Here are ten ways you will benefit from using What’s the Story:

1. No more stressing about how to word your web copy, sales pitches or that pesky bio (or, as Hemingway would put it, no more bleeding over the typewriter).

2. More time to focus on the aspects of your business that you really love.

3. More compelling copy, which = increased likelihood of sales.

4. Super-speedy turnaround. I promise your new copy within a week but often, it’s even quicker.

6. I absolutely LOVE helping people with their writing and will bring bucket-loads of enthusiasm and passion to your copy.

7. I have written for everyone from celebrities to high-flying business people, coaches and entrepreneurs.

8. I’m also a life coach with years of experience, so I’m extra-qualified to write inspirational and empowering copy.

9. As an award-winning novelist I will help you identify and tell the compelling stories behind you and your work which, in turn, will make people way more likely to read and share your copy.

10. If What’s the Story? had a coat of arms it would be emblazoned with the words: PROFESSIONAL, INSPIRATIONAL and FUN (scrolled around the picture of a giant coffee bean, its official fuel). If this resonates with the way you like to work then I’d love to hear from you.
